Angas is an Afro-Asiatic language spoken by about 400,000 people in Plateau State, Nigeria. The first texts in Angas were the Gospel of Mark (1916) and this Book of Common Prayer, translated under the auspices of the Church Missionary Society and the British and Foreign Bible Society with the Society for Promoting Christian Knowledge. The translator was C. H. Wedgwood.

The State Prayers offer intercession for King George VI in his capacity as monarch of the British Colony and Protectorate of Nigeria.

This book is listed as 7:1 in David Griffiths's Bibliography of the Book of Common Prayer 1549-1999 (British Library/Oak Knoll Press, 2002).
